Google Slashes AI Plus Price to $4.99, Doubles Storage to 400GB

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.: Google has significantly reduced the price of its AI Plus subscription from $7.99 to $4.99 per month, a drop of 38 percent. Along with the price cut, Google has also doubled the included storage from 200GB to 400GB, making the plan more attractive for everyday users.

Existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers will automatically gain access to AI Plus benefits over the coming days without any additional steps. For current AI Plus members, the new lower price will apply from their next renewal date.

The move is being seen as Google’s push to make its AI subscription more accessible and competitive in an increasingly crowded market.

AI Plus subscribers get double the usage limits in the Gemini app compared to free users. The plan includes a 128,000-token context window for longer conversations and document analysis. Features cover Daily Brief, Omni Flash video generation, scheduled actions, and expanded NotebookLM limits.

The plan also extends Proofread and AI Inbox features inside Gmail beyond free-tier caps. Google Flow, AI Studio, and Antigravity each gain higher usage allowances for paying subscribers. The package now sits as the lowest-priced major AI subscription from a top-tier provider globally.

Google formally rebrands its $9.99 monthly 2TB storage tier as Google AI Plus simultaneously. The move consolidates AI and storage benefits under a unified subscription umbrella across markets. Premium subscribers retain their existing storage allotments without any disruption to service.

The cut positions Google aggressively against OpenAI’s $8 per month ChatGPT Go plan. ChatGPT Go runs an ad-supported model that Google can now undercut on raw pricing. The aggressive move signals Google’s confidence in consumer AI subscription economics at scale.

Indian customers continue paying ₹399 monthly for the same plan with regional pricing. Google’s AI Pro tier received a 5TB storage boost in April at no extra cost.

The pricing update arrives alongside the NotebookLM Gemini 3.5 overhaul announced the same day. The storage increase rolls out over the next few days globally.
