Whatnot Raises $545M Series G to Expand Livestream Commerce

PALO ALTO, Calif.: Whatnot raises $545 million in Series G funding to expand its livestream shopping marketplace internationally and build AI tools for sellers.

ICONIQ Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Avra lead the round, announced August 9. Kleiner Perkins, Wellington, Robinhood Ventures, S32, and Standard Capital participate alongside existing investors. Total funding since the company’s 2019 founding now reaches approximately $1.5 billion.

Whatnot operates a marketplace where sellers host live video auctions for collectibles, trading cards, fashion, sneakers, and other categories. Buyers watch streams, place bids, and interact with sellers in real time. The company ranks among the largest livestream commerce platforms in the United States.

European growth stands out in the company’s reported metrics. The business is expanding 360% year over year in the region. The figure suggests the livestream shopping format, long established in China, is gaining sustained traction in Western markets.

The fresh capital funds international expansion and a new set of AI tools for sellers. Planned features include automated listing generation and support for stream production. Sellers on the platform operate as independent businesses, and the tools aim to lower their production workload.

The round ranks among the largest consumer commerce raises of 2026. Venture funding this year has concentrated heavily in AI infrastructure and enterprise software. Consumer marketplace rounds above $500 million have been rare by comparison.

Competition in live shopping includes TikTok Shop, eBay Live, and Amazon Live. Each has pursued the format with varying levels of investment and results.

Whatnot has not disclosed its valuation for the round. Revenue figures also remain undisclosed.
