Gnani AI Raises $10M to Build Sovereign Voice AI for Enterprise Markets

Bengaluru: Gnani AI has raised $10 million in a Series B round to scale its enterprise voice AI platform globally. The round was led by Aavishkaar Capital, with participation from existing backer Info Edge Ventures. Founded in 2016 by Ganesh Gopalan and Ananth Nagaraj.

Gnani AI is one of a select group of startups chosen under India’s national AI Mission to build sovereign foundational models.

The company processes over 30 million voice interactions daily across more than 12 languages. It serves over 200 enterprise clients including banks, insurers, and telecom operators across, APAC, the Middle East, and the US. Revenue more than doubled in FY25 to ₹53.87 crore, and the company turned profitable in the same year.

Gnani AI’s flagship platform is Inya, a full-stack agentic AI system that lets enterprises build, deploy, and manage AI agents across voice and digital channels.

The company also launched Vachana STT and Vachana TTS, speech recognition and text-to-speech models. These models are trained on over one million hours of Indic language data across 1,056 domains. A 14 billion-parameter speech-to-speech model is in development under the IndiaAI Mission.

The sovereign AI angle is central to Gnani’s pitch. Its models are built, trained, and governed within India, addressing data residency, regulatory compliance, and multilingual needs. As compare that in general-purpose Western models do not serve well. That positions it squarely in the growing market for nationally aligned AI infrastructure.

The $10M will fund international expansion, R&D, and talent acquisition. The round remains open and may see additional participation. Post-funding, the co-founders retain approximately 45% of the company.
