Forus Raises $160M to Fix the Broken Prescription Process

NEW YORK: A healthcare startup called Forus has raised over $160 million and is now valued at $1 billion. The company builds AI software that makes it easier for patients to get their prescriptions filled.

The round was led by Thrive Capital, General Catalyst, and Accel, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Redpoint, BoxGroup, and Pear VC.

The company, which recently rebranded from Tandem, operates a platform that connects doctors, pharmacies, insurers, and drug manufacturers across all 50 states. Its software plugs directly into physician workflows and automates insurance approvals, financial assistance, and pharmacy routing, eliminating the need for manual processing.

The platform supports every drug, payer, and pharmacy in the country currently. Thousands of medical practices across all 50 states use Forus daily. The service remains free for both doctors and patients at all times.

Forus reaches nearly 80% of U.S. residential zip codes today through its physician network. Patients accessing complex therapies see dramatic reductions in time to treatment. What previously took weeks now happens in days through automated workflows.

The company achieved $1 billion valuation just three years after launching from Thrive Capital’s offices. Annualized revenue should exceed $50 million by year-end 2026. Five of the top 10 global biopharma companies now work directly with Forus.

“Drug discovery is moving faster, but the system that turns it into real-world treatment isn’t,” says Forus CEO Sahir Jaggi.

The fresh capital expands operations and product development efforts significantly. Forus plans to scale across additional specialties and sites of care nationally. The team also wants to deepen AI capabilities handling complex multi-step authorization processes.

Healthcare AI rounds attract intense investor attention across the venture landscape currently. The category now ranks among the fastest-growing in venture capital allocation. Operational AI bottlenecks generate strong returns ahead of consumer-facing applications.
